On a wild and record setting Friday night at Caven Point, the Marauders beat the Lions of Pope John 58-47. Before the game began, Prep honored their seniors during their annual Senior Day ceremonies.
The game began with the Marauders scoring on the first play from scrimmage. Tyler Bell threw it 75 yards to Andres Perez to take the early 7-0 lead. The rest of the first quarter saw the Lions and Marauders trade touchdowns with one another. Prep’s touchdown featured Ty’ire Clark receiving a 15 yard touchdown from Tyler Bell, along with a successful two-point conversion. At the end of the first quarter, Prep led Pope John 15-13.

The second quarter started with a turnover on downs for the Marauders, and the Lions responded with a touchdown of their own to take the lead 20-15. After a Prep punt and a Pope John touchdown, Tyler Bell and Andres Perez connected with one another once again and scored a 23 yard touchdown. That would be the last score of a high scoring first half, and the Marauders trailed 28-22.
Special teams played a big role in the third quarter. After the Lions scored on their opening drive of the half, the Marauders responded with a 75 yard kick return from Jordan Rodriguez. However, they still trailed 34-29. The next Pope John saw the Lions drive all the way to the 1. However, the Marauders got a stop on the goal line on 4th and goal to end the Lions drive. The Marauders would respond with another Andres Perez touchdown from Tyler Bell, and a successful two-point conversion cut the Lions lead down to three, 40-37.

The fourth quarter started with a Pope John turnover, thanks to a Kyle Wise interception. Prep would take advantage of the turnover with a 26 yard touchdown on a quarterback run from Tyler Bell, and retook the lead 44-40. After the Lions scored another touchdown, Prep responded yet again with a 33 yard touchdown from Tyler Bell to Hunter Watson. The Marauders would recover a surprise onside kick after the touchdown, and Tyler Bell threw it to Christian Cruz from 22 yards out to seal the game for Prep. In addition, Bell's pass to Cruz would be his sixth of the night, setting a school record for most touchdown passes thrown in a game.
Prep improves to 4-4 on the season, and the Marauders next game will be on November 1 where they will host Don Bosco at 7PM at Caven Point.

Prep vs DePaul Catholic Recap

The Marauders traveled to Paterson, New Jersey for the Zone6ix Classic on a Thursday night. Despite the hot start, the Marauders fell to DePaul Catholic 54-21.
The game started out with a fumble on the opening kickoff that was recovered by Prep. The Marauders responded right away as Tyler Bell connected with Andres Perez once again for a 10 yard touchdown. Prep converted the two-point conversion, and led 8-0 early in the first quarter. Unfortunately for Prep, it was the only lead of the night. DePaul went on to score the next 34 points in the first half. Towards the end of the first half Tyler Bell and Andres Perez did connect for another touchtown, this time from 17 yards. However, DePaul responded with a touchdown of their own to end the half and went into halftime up 41-15.

The second quarter started with a Seton Hall fumble that was recovered by Prep’s Jordan Rodriguez.
